How Maz Rating Is Calculated
The rating is built from a sector-relative ranking model. Each stock is evaluated against its sector peers on five factors, then aggregated into a normalized score from 1 to 5.
Step 1
Compute ratio-level percentiles within the sector universe.
Step 2
Combine ratios into five factors: Valuation, Growth, Profitability, Financial Health, Momentum.
Step 3
Weight the factors (Momentum counts double) into a final rating and map it to a recommendation band.
How Shariah Screening Works
The platform tests each company against accepted Islamic finance rules. Ratios are compared with methodology-specific thresholds and each check is marked pass or fail.
Debt and liquidity filters
Debt, cash and receivables are assessed against limits defined by each standard.
Impure revenue controls
Non-compliant revenue share is measured and validated against strict tolerance bands.
How Insider Activity Is Interpreted
Insider transactions are tracked to provide context on management conviction. The system highlights size, recency and direction of executive trades.
Signal Type
Purchase vs sale direction and consistency across recent filings.
Signal Strength
Transaction size relative to market cap and typical insider behavior.
Timing Context
Recency around earnings, guidance updates, and major corporate events.
